About Omagh Forum Rural Association

Omagh Forum for Rural Associations is the Rural Support Network for the Omagh District, providing development support to Community and Voluntary Groups. Formed in 1989 Omagh Forum actively supports communities to help themselves through valuing civic participation and volunteering as vital building blocks in the community.

Membership is open to all rural community/voluntary organisations and individuals that engage in charitable activities, which help to relieve poverty, advance education and improve the quality of life for local people in their communities. The focus ofa our work includes promoting sustainable rural community development, networking, advocating, capacity building and good relations

Omagh Forum aims to serve rurally based groups and individuals in the community and voluntary sectors by promoting sustainability and the development of relevant projects; so that groups gain a good understanding the networking process thereby increasing cooperation and participation within and between groups.

Omagh Forum is one of 12 Rural Support Networks across Northern Ireland and together with the Rural Community Network is part of a Rural Community Development Networking Infrastructure
